Chucky is coming back but not in the form many of you may expect. The 1988 horror film Child's Play, in which the soul of a serial killer gets trapped inside the body of a doll is a cult classic and is on par with other horror icons such as Jason Voorhees, Freddy Kruger and Michael Myers.
Twenty-four years and four sequels later, we're finally getting a Chucky video game, courtesy of TikGames.
In development for "gaming platforms", Chucky will be a stealth-action romp that allows the player to decide who lives and who dies at the tiny hands of the doll-faced serial killer. It may not be the exact slasher horror video game fans have been begging for, but it's a start.
Why now? Because fans have been asking for it.
Chucky will launch on console and PC digital distribution channels this fall. So who's excited for some Chucky video game action?

Here is an update from the original post...
Just last week we announced that "Child's Play" would be receiving a video game treatment by TikiGames. This news raises a lot of hoped as well as a myriad of concerns and its a sad day for Child's Play fans today due to the latest news from giantbomb.com's interview with TikiGames marketing manager, Amar Gavhane, that Brad Dourif would not be involved with the project. He also went on to reveal that "Child's Play" creator Don Mancini is not involved with the project either.
"This might be the first Chucky project he’s not involved in," Gavhane said. "The story was written internally, and anybody familiar with the movie series will see some parallels or crossovers with the overall cinematic story arc."
As a "Child's Play" fan i am slightly dissapointed. I feel like without these two pivotal characters in the Child's Play franchise the game with probably lack the same tones and feeling of the movie. However, TikiGames could always prove me wrong.
